reminding our PLEDGE...!!!

IF i were asked under what sky, the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life and has found solutions,
i should point to INDIA... - Max Mueller

one of the statements i love deeply from the bottom of my heart...
recently i got an opportunity to meet Saadhwee Saraswatee Bhagawateeji.. she was born in USA... but at the age of 25 she visited HARIDWAR.. was fascinated by indian spiritual philosophy... and finally decided to devote her life for this philosophy...

she spoke on very many areas of life.. how spirituality help human being .. how a control over breathing help us to CONNECT with this universe... how to be +ve & stay +ve in this world... But she stirred the strings of my soul by one comment.. during her speech she almost exclaimed.." friends don't get confused. western culture is immature.. it is just like a baby, who is constantly finding the joy outside.. in outside activities.. in UPABHOGA..! but your culture - the indian culture is mature.. that teaches you to find joy within yourself... it is pure joy.. shashwat joy"

i always wonder, everybody from outside india, fascinated either by its culture, by its diversity, by its unity in diversity, by its beauty or by its "SOMETHING" which  is unexplicable...
what we don't have ? our culture taugth us to act "ECO- FRIENDLY" thru shlokas. it taught us the power of "MIND".. it taught us how to develope human resource.. it gave us management techniques.. the best ever method of education..i.e.
लालयेत पंचवर्षानी , दश वर्षानी  ताडयेत /
प्राप्तेषु षोडश वर्षेषु, पुत्रं मित्रवदाचरेत //
our culture has explained bio-informatics, micro-biology & something like "string theory" severals of centuries ago.. we have warnings on probable global warming.. we have love for nature in our genes.. our culture also shows us the glimpses of democracy... almost all the petals of modern principles...
what we need is to believe our culture..
i remember one story...
it is story of lord krishna and sudama.. both of them were friends of each-other.. were learning at one "gurukul".. under holy guru saandeepani rishi.. but the fact was krishna was a prince while sudama was from the poorest family.. may be "below poverty line" in today's terms...and yet they were learning under one roof... i have never heard that saandeepani rishi asked sudaamaa to pay extra charges if he wanted to learn with prince krishna.. or special tution fees as he was in "limited student's batch"... even then this holy man followed just the one rule...
" FROM  EACHONE  ACCORDING  TO EACHONE'S CAPACITY.. TO,
EACHONE  ACCORDING TO EACHONE'S NEED... "
don't you think this is nothing but.. " SOCIALISM "..?
do the world still expect , we indians to accept the credit or " inteleectual property rights " of socialism goes to western world..?
actually we , the young students of this beautiful country ,  must tell the world what we have..? what we carry thru our genes..? what is our rich heritage..? what we are proud of as we claim in pledge..?
but my bleeding heart asks the same question... CAN WE..?

  1. I agree to what you say! The situation in India during the early days as you described was due to no fetish about "patent rights", which the western world has! they call themselves "liberal" but are ideological smugglers!
So, if we need to show the world what we are, then, we need to draw a bigger line to make the existing one look small! What i mean to say is, progress by in-house (within country) learning and development, rather than falling prey to the "western educational bribe" that gives a "high" of affluenza!
It is a well known fact, that even a small thing like teaching English was well planned by the Britishers, who did not allow Macaulay's English to enter the country so that a colony doesn't progress devoid of its master! They taught wrong English just for the sake of functional admin. in India during that time, rather than what the real language is!
India has been liberal enough to spread its virtues and values as they are without any ulterior motives or adulteration! This makes it shine bright amongst the rest in the world! So, of course, we can!
