2012..
RATHER , october 2012 to be precise... wil be the 50th year of sino-indian war. though everybody is not looking @ china as enemy.. let us confess that the wound is still wet... we are still unable to forget those days.. especially when china is over-assertive in its foreign policy... and thus we may define sino-indian relationship as "peaceful stress".... cos the peace is there since 1962.. but we merely able to dilute the stress..!
recently i had been through one article which suggests that india should not miss the opportunity to develope V-JIP alliance... where v : vietnaam, j : japan, i : india & p : phillipines.. as they have common dangers... or at least common challenges from china...
on the other hand i had also came across one idea which claims to develope... A CULTURAL COMMONWEALTH lead by india...! which indeed is a good one.. firstly because it reflects +ve angle as compare to the first idea. secondly because , as indian our natural & psycological flow is towards cultural activities... it is that area where we people forget our boundries.... the best example is, the various television competetions where pakistani people participate....also, this concept might turn out to be phenomenal... as it reflects something which is parallel to "NON ALLIED MOVEMENT "...
what is cultural commonwealth ?
it is finding out the LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE of all the southern & south east asian countries.. through religion.. through yoga.. art.. performing arts.. family systems... music.. human behavior... environment etc...
& then to promote these L.C.M.s in all countries... which will develope a sense of commonhood among the people... which will finally results into developement of our nation on one hand while on the other hand it will create psycological pressure on china.... ! as china is CLOSED & TOTALITERIAN nation... they can never promote pluralistic society within china.... not only that but if we indian started promoting pluralistic society in china through such commonwealth... she merely have a strong answer to this liberal concept....
unfortunately our foreign policy is "REACTIVE" rather than "proactive"..... the question still remains, which is title of my blog.... CAN WE...?
Dear Swarup,
